Work Package Manager for the project after Auckland Airport suffered a lightning strike (actual ground strike point undetermined) which caused severe damage to their externally mounted electronic controllers (barrier arms, parking vendor machines, security camera drivers) through the earth potential rise in the communication lines. The commission was to survey all Montrose external cabinets, determine their functionality, contents etc. as well as pipe lines, specialised systems such as the ‘aircraft nose in guidance system’ and internal building electrics to provide advice on what lightning protective measures existed, what was needed and broad brush recommendations on improvement.
