Electrical Discipline Lead for the Electrical design for a 2.5 km twin bore, 3 lane road tunnel incorporating the high voltage and low voltage reticulation, switchgear, automated switching controls, tunnelroad, cycleway, specialist landscape and sports field lighting, UPS systems and cable support systems.  The tunnel is due for completion in early 2017.

Involved in the Tender pricing and preliminary design works up to detailed design stage.  The project is estimated at $2.14B.

The Waterview Connection project is considered  one of the most important infrastructure developments ever to take place in New Zealand. Completing a motorway ring route around the city, it will unlock Auckland’s potential to become a truly world class city. and reduce the travel time for the airport to the city.

Keith won a NZTA regional award for savings in the 22 kV design which deleted the need for two underground power stations and allowed the tunnel to be fed only from the  northern and southern portal buildings.
